I want to take a moment to highlight the amazing, creative goodness that is coming from two of my friends, Max and Johnna Holmgren. Bear Fox Chalk brings a unique perspective to the world of signage. Specializing in weddings, events and menus, Bear Fox Chalk creates customized large-scale chalk board designs from scratch.

[ listen ] : a meditation

I created this video meditation in a somewhat impromptu fashion. I was in the middle of doing something else, when I was listening to a track by Lullatone called “The Hands of A Clock.” I was struck by its beautiful simplicity and was inspired to recreate the moment for others. Enjoy.

The Happy Mug Dance

This is my first attempt at stop motion (hence it’s brevity). For my fellow aspiring videographers out there who may be interested in my process, here it is:

  • iPhone 4S with the Camera+ App
  • Upload 146 still images from the photo shoot into Adobe Premiere CS5
  • Adjust the duration of each image to 0:03 seconds
  • Add a mustard yellow layer at 7% opacity
  • Bump up the contrast of the images by 50%
  • Cue still images to music by DJsiah
  • Render

I created this video for two main reasons: 1) I’ve always been fascinated by stop motion photography and 2) I wanted people to get excited about Awaken’s Annual Business Party where we will have a limited quantity of “I Heart Awaken” mugs for sale to recoop the costs of printing and shipping.
