Mondays are the Worst

Rather than journaling I prefer to sketch. Sometimes an unintentional doodle or a random color scheme is in itself therapeutic as well as proves to be powerful in my own reflection of the day. This sketch came out of a long day of being home alone with the kids while my wife was at work. I just felt like unraveling and decompressing all the thoughts and happenings of the day.

Piano

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved to sketch. Often, I’m doodling in a stream of consciousness and let whatever I’m sketching discover itself. But other times, like this one, I find an object that captures my imagination. The baby grand in my parents living room has been the center of our family for years. Mom plays and the rest of us dabble. I turned 29 yesterday and I guess sketching this piano is a way of capturing the moment of reflection I experienced this morning while feeding 7 month old Lael her bottle at 6am.

I used an iPad app called Paper by 53 and a stylus.
